Citing Tips

Citing is undeniably a crucial aspect of analytical and research-based writing. It is the practice of acknowledging where information and ideas came from and giving credit where and when it is due. In turn, when a writer cites ethically and correctly, they are rewarded with credibility. Student Pedagogies for Social Change requires submitted research-based articles to contain citations using the Chicago Manual of Style (more details in "Submission Guidelines"). It is important to note specific formatting and differences between various citation styles (such as Chicago Manual of Style vs. MLA vs. APA, etc).
